Fireside Tales (For young children and their families)

2pm / Suggested Donation $2/Child

Are the wintertime blues getting you and the kids down?  Then join everyone at the Daniel Boone Homestead for their Fireside Tales and chase those blues away!  Storytelling was a great way for families in the 18th century to pass the time during the long, dark winters.  During their Fireside Tales, Homestead Friends and volunteers will read a few stories geared toward young children ages 4 – 8 and their families in the rustic atmosphere of the Wayside Lodge.

On January 8, kids will hear about an early American colonial adventure of two friends during the 1700s.  They will make sure to have a nice, cheerful fire going in the fireplace in the Wayside Lodge but it will still be quite chilly inside so remember to dress warmly and bring a few extra blankets or quilts to relax on and snuggle under!  Complimentary light refreshments will be provided.  So forget about Old Man Winter for an hour or two and spend an afternoon with your family at the Daniel Boone Homestead!
